UPDATING OUR NATION'S INFRASTRUCTURE

ONE PROJECT AT A TIME.

Read our case studies to see our solutions at work.

Pike Engineering works closely with municipal and utility clients to tackle their toughest infrastructure challenges safely and efficiently. Our engineering, consulting and technical services take projects from design through construction.

DISTRIBUTED GENERATION

From small residential deployments to larger systems, we have the experience to bring distributed generation online.

Pike Engineering has conducted feeder studies for over 5 GW of interconnected distributed generation resources. We’ve reviewed interconnection requests on behalf of utility partners spanning all system sizes below 250 kW, from small residential solar to larger systems, and ensured compliance with interconnection standards approved by the Public Utilities Commission and Public Service Commission.

SMART GRIDS AND DEMAND RESPONSE

We have laid the groundwork for successful implementations of distribution management systems.

Pike Engineering has performed feeder conditioning studies for over 1,100 distribution feeders. Our recommendations have included feeder balancing, capacitor bank installations, regulator bank installations and more, and served as the foundation for a distribution management system (DMS).

DISTRIBUTION AUTOMATION BUILD-OUT

We have a long track record of completing unique projects on schedule while exceeding customer expectations.

Pike Engineering performed protection and coordination studies; completed all field design work, including site visits, designs and permits; prepared work packages for construction; and commissioned controllers — all during a project that was finished in under five years.

STORM HARDENING

We handle everything from implementing back-end information systems through storm response.

One of our utility partners turned to Pike to provide all engineering and design services required for its five-year, $750 million distribution storm-hardening program. The scope included field data collection, geographic information system (GIS) updates, electrical and structural analysis, permitting, design, work order and construction package preparation, project management and construction support.
