Lee Mazzocchi
Lee Mazzocchi, President

Lee Mazzocchi is President of Pike Engineering and leads a national team of over 2,000 engineering professionals who serve electric, gas and telecommunications utilities and independent power producers across the country with broad expertise. With more than 35 years in the electric utility industry, Lee has an extensive background in various aspects of design, construction, operations, maintenance, customer service, project management, technology, research and development, innovation, supply chain, sustainability, and merger integration. Lee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and has completed the Advanced Management program at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

Byron Bass
Byron Bass, VP Atlantic Distribution Region

Byron Bass serves as Vice President of Pike Engineering’s Atlantic region and is responsible for over 600 employees focusing on distribution engineering and operations within the eleven offices across the Carolinas and Virginia. Prior to joining Pike in 2006, Byron has worked as a utility General Manager, a Manager of Energy Distribution, a Distribution Engineer, an Operations Manager, and a Transmission Field Engineer. Byron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Charleston Southern University.

Luiz Ordaz
Luis Ordaz, VP Florida Region

Luis Ordaz serves as Vice President of Pike Engineering’s Florida region. During his 36-year career in the electric utility industry, Luis has held numerous leadership, engineering, operations, construction and technology positions in transmission and distribution operations. Luis graduated with honors from the University of South Florida as a member of Tau Beta Pi with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, as well as an Associate Degree in Computer Engineering Technology. He holds his FE certification and is a prior Project Management Professional with the PMI.

Justin Simmons
Justin Simmons, VP Southern Region

Justin Simmons serves as Vice President of Pike Engineering’s Southern region, which includes Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. A third-generation Pike employee, he has extensive experience in distribution engineering, construction, and operations. Justin began his career as a Project Manager with Pike Electric, LLC before transitioning to Pike Engineering, LLC as an Operations Manager and then Director of Distribution Engineering Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University.

Joe McGovern
Joe McGovern, VP Southwest Region

Joe McGovern serves as Vice President of Pike Engineering’s Southwest region with responsibility for overall strategy and operations in Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona and portions of Louisiana, Arkansas, and California. Joe has over 28 years of electric utility experience in engineering, operations, and finance functions. Prior to joining Pike, Joe held leadership roles with a focus on electric distribution engineering, new technology research and integration strategies. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Iowa State University.

Paul Kling
Paul Kling, VP Midwest Region

Paul Kling serves as the Vice President of Pike Engineering’s Midwest region with responsibilities for key clients in six States from Virginia to Indiana. He joined Pike in 2019 with over 40 years in the industry focusing on engineering, program management, and corporate strategy. Paul is a registered Professional Engineer in several states and holds a Project Management Professional certification. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University.

Sam DeLaRosa
Samuel De La Rosa, VP Gulf Coast Region

Sam De La Rosa serves as Vice President of Pike Engineering’s Gulf Coast region and is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He joined Pike in 2006 as an Engineer and progressed upwards to an Operations Manager, Engineering Manager, Director, and Vice President over the past 16 years. Sam relocated to Louisiana in 2022 from Colorado to lead the Pike Engineering growth efforts in the Gulf region. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico and is a licensed professional engineer.

David McDonald
David McDonald, VP Professional Services

David McDonald serves as Vice President of Pike Engineering’s Professional Services, which provides a national broad base of engineering based solutions to the electric industry. David joined Pike in 2021 with over 35 years of experience in the electric utility distribution sector, having served in a variety of engineering and operational senior leadership roles. David received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and holds his Professional Engineering (P.E.) licenses in North Carolina and South Carolina.
